[Update] OPEN BOR mod

A quick update about the OPEN BOR mod.  Level one.  War on art palettes.  Victory in sight.  All hail OPEN BOR WIKI.  There’s talk of music from the coolest accordion-playing-robot-drawing dude this side of the delta, Zach Rodis.  All in all, train’s picking back up.  No dates.  Fingers crossed on something playable, sometime soon.

Congratulations to Alex Horn on his new job as Narrative Designer/Writer at 38 Studios/Big Huge Games, to Tristin and Greg Hightower on baby Matthew, and to Ian Perera on his acceptance into the AI program at University of Rochester!

MOD 2: OPEN BOR “untitled”

NBT (below) is currently on hold.  Several X Points team members are working on an OPEN BOR mod (think dark elves…) in the meantime.  Check back soon for a playable demo of the first level.

MOD 1: “Not Being There”

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

“Not Being There” (NBT) is a video game about video games. The mod is a critique of standard video game design, and an attempt at offering an alternative. In it, we explore the social, aesthetic, and phenomenological aspects of video games by re-examining things like genre, narrative, gameplay, and meaning. This first iteration of The X Points Game Studio makes full use of the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine, and features professional voice talent, art, music, audio, and programming. The X Points Game Studio is based in Philadelphia.
